Stock Bags

Launch Now, Commit Later

Stock bags are ready-made pouches in set sizes and materials, finished with your own printed label. No plates, no dieline, no long lead time. It is the lowest-risk way to put a real product on a real shelf.

  • Low minimums and quick turnaround
  • Change the label without scrapping bags
  • Clear upgrade path to full custom

What a Stock Bag Actually Is

A stock bag already exists. It was made in a standard size, in a standard material, in a standard color, and it is waiting on a shelf for a brand to claim it. You add a printed label and you have a finished retail package. What you give up is full-bleed printing and a shape of your own. What you get back is speed, a far smaller order, and the freedom to change your branding without throwing away thousands of bags you already paid for.

When Stock Is the Smart Call

Stock is not a lesser option, it is a different stage of the business. Sometimes it is clearly the better decision.

  • You are still testingRecipes, sizes, and names change early. Labels change cheaply.
  • Many SKUs, low volumeOne bag, many labels, no plate cost per flavor.
  • You need it fastA farmers market, a trade show, a retailer trial next month.
  • Seasonal or limited runsA short-lived product that will never justify a custom bag.

The Honest Trade-Offs

Better to know these now than to discover them standing in front of the shelf.

Shelf Presence

A label on a plain bag will never match a full-bleed printed pouch. Beside custom competitors the difference shows.

Fixed Sizes

You fit your product to the bag instead of the other way around, which matters most for bulky or low-density foods.

Per-Unit Cost

Cheap to start, more expensive per bag at volume. There is a point where custom simply costs less.

Material Range

You pick from what exists. High-fat, high-aroma, or long shelf-life products sometimes need a barrier the stock range does not carry.

Finishing a Stock Bag Well

Done thoughtfully a stock bag looks deliberate. Done carelessly it looks temporary.

  • Die-Cut LabelsA shaped label reads as design. A plain rectangle reads as a sticker.
  • Front and BackUse the back panel for ingredients and the story.
  • Kraft, Matte, or FoilChoose a base bag that already suits the brand.
  • Resealable OptionsMany stock sizes come zippered as standard.
  • WindowsSome stock ranges include a clear panel.
  • Hang HolesAvailable on stock sizes built for peg retail.

Labeling onto kraft has its own quirks, especially with white ink, which prints duller on brown board than it looks on a screen. Ask for a printed sample before you finalize artwork.
